The challenge

What Needed to Be Built

A social-deduction game lives or dies on its communication layer and its ability to keep strangers safe from each other. Voice and text chat had to run reliably at scale, alongside moderation to handle abuse, on top of the case content, character roles and room-based multiplayer that make the format work at all.

Game Nock’s Responsibility

  • UI/UX design
  • Case/mystery content writing
  • Photon multiplayer implementation
  • Firebase backend
  • Social authentication
  • In-game voice and text chat
  • Moderation/reporting system for chat abuse
  • In-game economy and IAP
  • Ad monetization integration
  • Analytics integration
  • Post-launch support and new case content
  • Publishing to the client's store accounts

Technical Implementation

Built for iOS and Android with Photon handling room-based multiplayer and Firebase running backend services and social authentication. In-game voice and text chat let players question each other directly, backed by a moderation/reporting system to handle abuse between strangers.
